She established the Doris Day Animal Foundation along with several others during her lifetime to care for animals. Without knowing, Day would probably have approved. At that point I shifted to Elvis and added: “You ain’t nothing but a hound dog.” “When I was just a little boy, I asked my mother what would I be? Will I be famous? Will I be rich? This is what she said to me”. My song started out with lyrics from Day and ended with Elvis. Of course, I never got to the “Que Sera Sera” part. In fact, I borrowed and adapted the introductory lyrics to the song and sang them to my children when they were little. It takes little effort for me to hear the words “Que Sera Sera” rolling around in my head with the melodious voice of Doris Day pelting out the lyrics. I remember from my childhood that our family routinely watched the Hit Parade on television. She left show business in her early fifties and left Hollywood saying, “It wasn’t the town it used to be”. Reportedly, according to Bob Bashara, her manager and close friend, Day believed her voice was God given and she used it. I guess at some level, she’s been out of the limelight for so long that I didn’t know she was still alive.
#Who sang the song que sera sera series#

Thanks to Iain Cooke for letting me know.

"Love Me Forever" beautifully sung by Eydie Gorme. Thanks to Anonymous (10th November) and Marie for spotting my omission. "You're Just in Love (I Wonder Why)" by Perry Como. "Magic Moments" by Perry Como and the Ray Charles Singers. "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" by The Four Aces. I have to admit I did have one her albums a long, long time ago. "Que Sera Sera" by Doris Day with Frank Devol and his orchestra. The CD is not episode by episode, so here they are. Thanks to the "Call the Midwife" Facebook page and their link to the Amazon list on the double CD, I can now reveal all the artists as well as the songs. So that is why I decided to try and list them all here. And I'm one of those people who stay in my seat at the cinema, waiting for the list of songs at the end of the credits. There is no list of songs from the series anywhere on the Internet, and the BBC failed to acknowledge them in the credits at the end of each episode. Listening again to the song "Little Darlin'" from Episode 6 of "Call the Midwife", I wanted to see if there were any other such classics from the series.
